Knitting - Catch Up

Pattern: French Press Slippers
Yarn: Vintage Wool
Needle: US 15

Another pair of French Press Slippers. These are for me. Honestly, I don't love them.

Pattern: Greta's Bag (Free!)
Yarn: Vintage Wool
Needle: US 15

Needs a liner and handles. Still haven't decided on the kind of handles I want for this.

Pattern: Improvised
Yarn: Bernat Softee Chunky (blue), Lion Brand Vanna's Choice (gray)
Needle: US 10

This little hat is for my nephew. It's size 6-12 months. I'm hoping it fits him perfectly in October and will last him through the winter.

Pattern: DROPS Headband (Free!)
Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers - this color is called Dune and I LOVE it!!
Needle: US 7

The design of this is really simple, but the pattern on the DROPS website if very vague. I wrote out the whole thing row by row. If you'd like a copy, just drop me a line. Just be sure to include your e-mail address. This headband is awesome. I can't wait for it to get cold again so I can wear it!! :)

Pattern: Little Tuffy (Free!)
Yarn: Lily Sugar n' Cream (jute and ecru) - yarn held double stranded
Needle: 10

Washcloths for the kids' teachers. We'll package them up with some pretty vanilla soaps. This pattern is the best--QUICK and easy and makes a really nice washcloth. I love it!

And that's what's been on my needles. What are you knitting?

  1. I don't know why you don't love your slippers, but I am totally in LOVE with them. They are so freaking cute! Love my wash cloth, too. It is really nice.

  7. Dear Anonymous,
I just e-mailed you my notes. In answer to your question, I think it's a great project for a beginner.

Some new skills you may need to learn:

pfb - which once you get it is a really handy skill for your knitting arsenal
p2tog - not really hard, just sometimes a bit fiddley
Provisional CO or Kitchener - but in a pinch you could just normally cast on and normally bind off and then sew the ends together. They go under your hair at the back anyway, so not a big deal.

This is a great headband so I say go for it! :)
